Who we are
PlanetCare Community Initiative Ghana LBG is a non-profit, non-partisan organisation dedicated to empowering communities across Ghana to protect and restore their environment.
Through grassroots action, education, advocacy and research, we help rural and underserved communities build resilience against climate change, water scarcity, pollution and biodiversity loss, while improving access to potable water, sanitation and clean energy.
Our Story
How PlanetCare began
PlanetCare is a newly registered non-profit, incorporated in Ghana as a Company Limited by Guarantee (LBG). It was founded by a team of Ghanaian and international academics and practitioners in environmental science, chemical engineering and social ecology who share a commitment to community-led environmental action across Ghana.

To build resilient communities where residents and the environment flourish through access to potable water, proper sanitation solutions, and clean energy, driven by community action, collective responsibility, and sustainable living.
Our Mission
To empower underserved rural communities to safeguard their environments through education, environmentally sustainable practices, and collective action that advances green energy usage, ecological resilience and social well-being.

Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH)
Promoting WASH education for disease prevention and public health improvement in rural communities.
Community-Led Conservation
Mobilising community volunteers and youth for hands-on environmental conservation activities.
Research & Advocacy
Undertaking environmental research and promoting policies that safeguard ecosystems and environmental justice.
Clean Energy Access
Designing and supporting solar, biogas and improved cookstove solutions for communities, schools and clinics.
